Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of Read the Room (the "Service") operated by PoweredAI Solutions LLC. This AUP is incorporated by reference into the Terms of Service.

Violations of this AUP may result in content removal, access suspension, or permanent termination at PoweredAI Solutions LLC's sole discretion.

1. Purpose and Scope

This AUP applies to all users of the Service, including Facilitators and Participants. It applies to all Content created, uploaded, transmitted, or displayed through the Service, and to all conduct occurring on or in connection with the Service.

Facilitators are responsible for communicating this AUP to their Participants and for exercising reasonable moderation within their Simulations.

2. General Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the Service to:

(a) Engage in illegal activity. Use the Service in any manner that violates applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.

(b) Harass, bully, threaten, or discriminate. Direct abuse, threats, intimidation, or discriminatory conduct at any individual or group, whether inside or outside a Simulation context. This includes conduct based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, national origin, or any other protected characteristic.

(c) Impersonate or misrepresent. Falsely claim to be another person, a representative of PoweredAI Solutions LLC, a Facilitator when you are not one, or any other individual or entity.

(d) Breach or probe security. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' data, or any systems or networks connected to the Service. This includes probing for vulnerabilities, port scanning, penetration testing, or exploiting security weaknesses without written authorization from PoweredAI Solutions LLC.

(e) Reverse engineer. Decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service or any component thereof.

(f) Distribute malware. Upload, transmit, or distribute viruses, trojans, worms, ransomware, or any other malicious code through the Service.

(g) Spam or disrupt. Send unsolicited bulk messages, flood channels with repetitive content, or deliberately interfere with other users' ability to use the Service.

3. Simulation-Specific Rules

The following rules apply specifically to conduct within or related to Simulations.

3.1 No Real-World Contact Based on Simulation Content

Do not contact real organizations, emergency services (police, fire, ambulance), media outlets, government agencies, military entities, embassies, or any other external party based on events, scenarios, or information from a Simulation. All Simulation content is fictional. Treating it as real and acting on it outside the exercise is a serious violation that may result in immediate termination and legal consequences.

3.2 No External Sharing of Simulation Content

Do not share Simulation content outside the exercise. This includes:

  • Screenshots or screen recordings of Simulation interfaces, chats, or data.
  • Copying and pasting Simulation messages, deliverables, or injects.
  • Posting Simulation content to social media, messaging apps, forums, or any other platform.
  • Sharing join codes, facilitator credentials, or access links with unauthorized individuals.

3.3 No Unauthorized Recording

Do not record audio, video, or screenshots of Simulation sessions without explicit prior permission from the Facilitator. Facilitators who authorize recording must inform all Participants before the recording begins.

3.4 Stay in Role

Participants must operate within their assigned role and Team during a Simulation. Do not impersonate other Teams, fabricate communications from roles you do not hold, or misrepresent your Team's position in cross-team channels or press releases.

3.5 Maintain Pseudonymization

Do not use real names (your own or others') in Simulation chat channels, press releases, deliverables, or cross-team communications. Use your assigned nickname or role title. This protects participant privacy and maintains the exercise's fictional frame.

3.6 Respect Exercise Boundaries

Facilitator decisions regarding simulation flow, timing, approvals, scoring, and participant management are final within the exercise context. Disputes about Facilitator conduct should be raised with the sponsoring institution, not litigated within the Simulation.

3.7 Adversarial Role-Play

Simulations frequently involve competitive, adversarial, and high-pressure dynamics. Aggressive diplomatic messages, competitive press releases, firm negotiation positions, and strategic deception within the exercise framework are expected and permitted. This is distinct from genuine harassment, personal attacks, or threats, which are prohibited under Section 2(b) regardless of the simulation context.

The line between legitimate role-play and prohibited conduct is determined by whether the behavior targets the fictional role or the real person behind it.

4. Content Standards

All Content created or transmitted through the Service must comply with the following standards.

(a) No obscene, sexually explicit, or exploitative material. This includes pornography, sexually explicit text, and any content that sexualizes minors.

(b) No content promoting real-world violence or terrorism. Content that advocates, glorifies, or incites real-world violence, terrorist acts, or violent extremism is prohibited. This applies regardless of whether the content appears within a Simulation context.

(c) No deliberately false information presented as real. Content that is knowingly false and presented as factual outside the Simulation context is prohibited. This does not restrict fictional in-simulation communications (press releases, diplomatic cables, intelligence briefs), which are understood by all participants to be part of the exercise.

5. Enforcement

5.1 Platform Actions

PoweredAI Solutions LLC reserves the right to:

  • Remove or disable access to any Content that violates this AUP, without prior notice.
  • Suspend or terminate the access of any user who violates this AUP, without prior notice.
  • Report illegal activity to appropriate law enforcement authorities.
  • Cooperate with law enforcement investigations as required by law.

5.2 Facilitator Actions

Facilitators may remove Participants from their Simulations at their discretion, for any reason, at any time. Facilitators are the first line of moderation within a Simulation and are expected to address AUP violations promptly.

5.3 Escalation

Repeated or severe violations may result in:

  • Permanent ban from the Service.
  • Notification to the violator's affiliated institution (university, employer, or sponsoring organization).
  • Legal action where warranted.

5.4 Proportionality

Enforcement actions will be proportionate to the severity and frequency of the violation. For first-time minor violations by Participants in educational settings, PoweredAI Solutions LLC will ordinarily notify the Facilitator before taking platform-level action, except where immediate action is necessary to prevent harm or security risk.

5.5 No Obligation to Monitor

PoweredAI Solutions LLC is not obligated to monitor Content or conduct on the Service. However, PoweredAI Solutions LLC reserves the right to review Content and activity at any time for compliance with this AUP.

  • The Simulation name or identifier (if applicable).
  • A description of the violation.
  • The approximate date and time of the violation.
  • Screenshots or other evidence, if available.

Reports are reviewed by PoweredAI Solutions LLC and handled at its sole discretion. PoweredAI Solutions LLC is not obligated to disclose the outcome of any investigation to the reporter.
